Chris was invited to go on an epic tour around Hiroshima. He explored the ancient looking town, Takehara, and went to an all-you-can drink alcohol festival, Saijo Sake Matsuri.
Hiroshima annually ranks 4th or 5th in volume of sake produced, and Saijo is one of Japan’s most famous brewing districts. The area around JR Saijo Station is lined with many old and well-established breweries. The Saijo Sake Festival is held here each October, when visitors are free to walk around from brewery to brewery sampling various types of Japanese sake at each one.
