Our company’s product “Soumi” is named after the Buddhist name of our founder Takamasa Migita.
In 1600 Takamasa started “Soumi market” in order to re-establish the prosperity of Masuda region. Soumi market continued as the economic lifeline for Masuda until the early Showa period.
Focusing on the pure spring water and the rich harvest of this area, he started making Sake in 1602, which has been handed down generation to generation over 400 years.
With this tradition and the results from handmade brewing based on our company’s original techniques, we have created sake that is not only pleasant to drink with a fine aroma but also has beautiful flavors born from nature’s bounty.
