In this sake video, Andre and Guilherme take you to the Sawanotsuru Brewery Sake Museum in Kobe to discover the delicate sake making tradition. The sake museum displays the history of sake brewing, and offers tasting of different sakes.
This large sake museum is built on the site of an old sake brewery run by Sawanotsuru, who have been making sake in this area for more than three centuries. Full-size recreations of traditional sake-production facilities are one of the highlights here – rooms filled with gigantic tubs and sake storage barrels where fermented rice mash was transformed into sake.
There’s English-language guidance throughout the sake exhibition, and an English-language video explaining sake brewing methods is shown in the entry hall. Traditional period music plays in the background throughout the rest of the sake museum. And, it is admission free!
