Ayuchi Momose was awarded with the prestigious title of Sake Samurai in 2012. She is a Sake certified as well as a Sake educator. In 2013, Ayuchi was appointed to promote Sake at the Oishii Japan, an expo based on Japanese Food and Beverage trade.
She is the owner of Sake Bar Ginn, one of the first Sake bar in Hong Kong which serves up to 100 different kinds of premium Sake directly imported from Japan. Ayuchi has visited many breweries in Japan and likes to promote small breweries. She worked for more than 10 years in the famous Sakagura Sake Bar in New York City, one of the pioneer in introducing Sake to the world.
Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan Ayuchi studied Culinary art and received her degree in 1997. In 1998, she moved to New York and graduated from the fashion institute of Technology. She started to be interested in Sake as she was traveling to Japan to visit clients.
Ayuchi is currently running her Sake bar in Hong Kong, organizing event and promoting her passion for Sake. She is also personally importing her own favorites Sake and is always willing to educate guests on the art of sake and will happily talk customer through each drink.
The Sake Samurai Association
The Sake Samurai Association was established in 2004 as a junior council for the Japan Sake Brewers Association to protect sake and Japanese traditions at home and to promote them internationally. It has contributed to the increased popularity of sake and Japanese food overseas in recent years.
